I develop control, optimization, and online learning methods for steering strategic and networked agents in large-scale societal systems.
About me
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. I am also a WASP Fellow and affiliated with Digital Futures.
Before joining KTH, I was a Postdoctoral Associate and Fellow at MIT in the Laboratory for Information & Decision Systems (LIDS) and the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS) from 2019 to 2023, working with Prof. Munther Dahleh. At MIT, I was also a course developer & instructor for the MicroMasters Program in Statistics and Data Science (SDS) from 2021 to 2023.
I completed my Ph.D. degree in the Division of Optimization & Systems Theory at KTH in 2019, working with Xiaoming Hu and Johan Karlsson, and received my B.S. and M.S. degrees in Automation, advised by Yu Yao and Songlin Chen, from Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT).
My research interests include control and optimization, incentive design, large-scale systems, and risk-averse/ safe learning.
Recent Research Highlights
- Adaptive incentive design: no-regret and social-gradient methods for steering strategic agents.
- Online learning for nonlinear systems: learning beyond iid assumptions.
- Higher-order network dynamics: approximations for stochastic processes on hypergraphs.
